From the seven wonders of the world, such as Machu Picchu or the Taj Mahal, to the countless intangible wonders around the world, such as the “xoè” dance of the Thai people in Vietnam or Arabic calligraphy, cultural heritage fascinates us wherever we go. The restoration of cultural artefacts, a very important part of conservation, is not only necessary, but also fascinating. To find out more about this laborious work, I spoke to Giorgia Cipollone, an Italian artist and art conservator based in London.
